Its main pupose is to provide a distance estimator but it can also be used for photometric redshifts, and spectroscopic + photometric identification (see the papers page for references).

SALT2SALT2 is based on a principal component analysis with missing data. The model is trained on light-curves and spectra of both nearby and distant SNe. The spectral sequences, the source code and models of instruments are available for download.
SALT1The first release (SALT1) used the SED sequence of P. Nugent. Those were modified with polynomials in magnitude in order to match with observed light-curves in UBVR. Source code and data can be downloaded here.
